Direct Care Program

Volunteer to provide in-person care in Israel. The Direct Care Program deploys approved volunteers from outside of Israel who are available to travel to Israel for a period of six weeks-three months to be assigned to work with citizens who suffer from anxiety or post trauma, through Israel’s Resilience Centers in the south. In some instances, volunteers may be invited to continue virtually with patients after the in-person period has ended and volunteers return home.

Each cohort of volunteers goes through a credentials screening process and is provided trauma-focused care training ahead of travel, and group support throughout this period, and is provided room and board during placement while in Israel. Language is a critical component of psychological care, so recruitment will initially prioritize Hebrew speakers and those who speak other priority languages (Arabic, French, Russian, Ukrainian, Amharic, Spanish).

Once volunteers are vetted and approved, they will be distributed where there is greatest need, and will work with communities from the south of Israel, who are currently evacuated to hotels throughout the country.
